In the spring of 2011, BRANCH worked with the Metro Denver Farmers’ Market to bring the first farmers’ market to the Aurora community at General’s Park on the corner of Peoria and Colfax. The Aurora Farmers’ Market launched in July, 2011 and was held weekly through September, 2011.
There were approximately 200+ attending from the surrounding Aurora community as well as 200+ from the AMC community on a weekly basis!
The 2011 Aurora Farmers’ Market was a huge hit by offering increased access to fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables for both the AMC and Aurora communities. It also provided an educational venue to the Aurora community through a regular booth from Children’s Hospital and BRANCH, and a one-time booth from the Mountain and Plains Education and Research Center.
