BRANCH has developed partnerships with Aurora Public Schools (APS) and Denver Urban Gardens (DUG) to bring school-based community gardens and related science curriculum to two Aurora schools.
The two schools that have been selected by APS for the community gardens are North Middle School and Hinkley High School. Both schools are community schools, which are already plugged into local community organizations.
These gardens would not have happened without funding from the Piton Foundation, which has generously granted $137,500 for the development of 2 community gardens and related science-based curriculum development over the next 3 years.
